Drop-In Sessions for Blind and Partially Sighted People

Delivered by: Southend in Sight
Funded by: Community Investment Fund

Southend in Sight were awarded funds to run drop-in sessions for local blind and partially sighted people. The grant from the Community Investment Board has enabled the charity to continue welcoming people through their doors to improve wellbeing and to offer specialist sessions around support with form filling, trying out low vision and kitchen equipment.

CEO, Lucy Martin says: “We are so pleased with the response from the local visually impaired community to our morning drop-in sessions.  We know that giving people the opportunity to chat with someone in a similar situation to their own has really helped to improve wellbeing – we have never been so popular!  Our thanks to the Community Investment Board for supporting us with this new project”.
