At Unpuzzled Theatre Company, they firmly believe in the transformative power of theatre and the arts. Inclusivity lies at the core of their approach, using participatory theatre techniques to create innovative programs and opportunities for those without access. Their vision is to build confidence, empower marginalised individuals, and challenge societal norms. They seek to create theatre that sparks change and provides a safe and inspiring space for local communities to connect. Through collaborations with communities, they craft bespoke participatory theatre that empowers participants.

The support from the Community Investment Board has supported the community and school tour of “The Mitten,” a thought-provoking participatory show that delves into migration and group identity themes. Through the seamless interplay of live music, physical theatre, and captivating storytelling, audiences are invited to be taken on an immersive journey into the complexities of the human experience.

The Community Investment Board also supported the delivery of the 2023/24 Youth Theatre in Schools program, which aims to cultivate confidence, nurture talents, and encourage collaboration among young individuals, setting them on a path of self-discovery and artistic exploration. The support enables the Unpuzzled Theatre Company to provide the program for free, removing the financial barriers many families in Southend face.
